The camera accessory that you could get for free.

If you'd only ask.

Yup, you could get a lenshood for free if you just ask for it while getting deals for your camera purchase. This is very useful especially when you're taking pictures outdoors and the contrast of your photos always ends up so and so or worst... there is a nasty lens flare. This also applies in the studio when the flash lights are very near or in front of your lens. Unless you want it there intentionally for effects purposes, a lens flare always gets in the way of a successful shoot.

Want to know the benefits of a lenshood without shelling out big bucks for the original/manufacturer version? ... You do? then head on to this site to know more...

http://www.lenshoods.co.uk/

According to the site:

  • Printable lens hoods offer a number of advantages over their costly counterparts:
  • Ultra compact - can be carried unfolded.
  • No waiting to order one - simply download, print, cut-out and attach.
  • Redundancy - don't worry if you lose one; just print another!
  • 100% recyclable.
  • Can be modified to cater for different digital SLR sensor crop factors.
  • Available in both 'rounded' and 'petal' versions.

And best of all...

They're absolutely free!

Kudos to Paul Mutton for providing a valuable website. I've used one myself when I forgot my lenshood and was shooting on location. I just downloaded one, printed it and I clicked away.

Lens flare be gone. Just download a PDF for your camera brand and put one on your camera bag. What? your camera brand is not listed? There is a link in the top left corner of the site that says

"custom hoods"

Simply click on it and design a custom one based on your lens. Don't you just love it when somebody thinks of your needs in advance?

Peace.

P.S. Don't forget to share this with your friends and colleagues by bookmarking this blog on your favorite social bookmarker like delicious, stumbleupon, or digg whose buttons you can simply click below. What's that? you already did? Thanks!
